LEVA Member Currie Technologies in the News! The era of ebikes is upon us.
Bikes with an electric-motor assist are beginning to change the
way people get around town, according to experts who declare the age of
the e-bike is upon us. E-bikes look and operate similar to their
traditional pedal-powered equivalents, but contain a battery-powered
motor that kicks on when, for example, pedaling up a menacing hill.

LEVA Members Wisper Bikes and OXIS Energy Limited of the United Kingdom
have announced a joint collaboration to develop and produce the world's
1st commercial e-bike battery system powered by OXIS's Polymer Lithium
Sulphur chemistry and technology.
Both Companies have agreed to work together in the development of
the prototype Polymer Lithium Sulphur battery system, set for release in
Q4 2011. The objective is for the companies to engage, and complete,
the certification of the battery system for Wisper bikes for the
